Plenary talk of Nobel Prize winner K. Novoselov

MISM would like to congratulate the 2010 Physics Nobel Prize winners Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov! The duo was awarded Nobel prize for "Groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene". We are happy to announce that the 2010 Physics Nobel Prize winner K. Novoselov will deliver MISM plenary talk "Electronic structure, electronic, optical and magnetic properties of graphen and other carbon compounds" on August 22, 2011.

First announcement

The conference "Moscow International Symposium on Magnetism" (MISM) was held at Moscow State University in 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2008. Last time more than 600 scientists from 34 countries, including USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Turkey, Japan, Korea, Russia and Former Soviet Republics, participated in MISM-2008. Proceedings of MISM-2008 were published in Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials and in Solid State Phenomena. Taking into account the success of these meetings and numerous requests of participants the International Advisory Committee decided to organize MISM on regular basis, every three years. The MISM is the largest international conference on magnetism, which takes place in Russia. This time the Organizing Committee decided to focus on the most actual topics of modern magnetism and to strictly limit the total number of participants. In addition to plenary talks of tutorial character and invited talks of leading scientists only original and top-level contributions will be considered by the Program Committee. The Organizers have very restricted funding and cannot support participants, including the members of International Advisory Committee, plenary and invited speakers but we will try our best to arrange useful, pleasant and not expensive stay in Moscow.
